in my name

In 2000, 189 governments made the historic commitment to half extreme poverty by 2015. We are halfway to the deadline, but poverty still kills 50,000 people every day.

So it’s not surprising that some people think poverty can never be ended. It can. And you have the power to make sure it happens. Not some time in the distant future, but in our generation.

Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas has joined the global call to action against poverty, and has written a powerful new song "in my name" demanding that governments act now.

Be part of it. Tell your leaders to act in your name to end poverty and inequality.

Take Action on Climate Change

This year, the United Nations Climate Change Conference is taking place in Poznań, Poland 1-12 December 2008. Poznan can't be "just another meeting." Let climate decision makers know that the world is watching what happens at this year's meeting.

Join activists from around the world and submit photos featuring your eyes. We will bring your photos to the meeting to tell decision makers that we are all watching. Poznan must result in a commitment to a fair and ambitious climate deal at next year's UN climate talks in Copenhagen.

Your New Video Launched!

Will.i.am unveiled the new "in my name" mashup video at YouTube Live in San Francisco on Saturday night. The video was created from hundreds of videos submitted by the YouTube community and supporters of the fight to End Extreme Poverty. In their own unique way, each video called on world leaders to keep their promise to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
